DETAILS

The Brisbane City Library is the main city branch of the Brisbane City Council’s library network. The facility set a new benchmark in customer focused service delivery with a modern open-plan design, across three interconnected levels. Upon entry into the space, visitors encounter the full-height glass floating pod suspended and illuminated in the tower foyer.  Nearly 100 tonnes of glass were installed, representing 4000m² in total.  This included painted glass, laminated glass, electrically charged glass, toughened glass and coloured laminated glass, as well as around 500m² of digitally printed graphic film.  The broad range of spaces broaden the functionality of this facility to allow many new experiences and opportunities for public interaction and use.
